NIA arrests suspected ISIS operative in Bhatkal
Bengaluru: National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested Jufri Jawhar Damudi from Bhatkal in Karnataka in connection with the Kerala ISIS module case on Friday.
According to the NIA, Jufri Jawhar Damudi was high up in the hierarchy of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant – Khorasan Province (ISKP) and a key ISIS operative. He was arrested along with one of his associates Ameen Zuhaib.
NIA carried out the arrest in coordination with the state police in Bhatkal.
Last month, the NIA and the Intelligence Bureau (IB) and the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) busted an ISIS module case in Jammu and Kashmir. Nine suspects were questioned, and the agency held five people.
