Nitish's surprise dinner meeting with Prashant Kishor
Sources close to Nitish Kumar said that he decided to make his meeting with Prashant Kishor public as a message to the BJP, which is openly critical of him on different subjects in the state.
Patna: Amidst his relationship with West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is at stake, the Political strategist Prashant Kishor( PK) dined with Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
Both PK and Nitish have confirmed the meeting, both were held a closed-door meeting for two hours at Chief Minister’s official residence in Patna.
It may be recalled that Mr. Kumar has sacked PK in 2020 from party post, PK was number position in Janata Dal-United.
Mr, Kumar said that his meeting with PK was a curtsy call, Even PK said that they did not discuss politics. He also said that When Nitish Kumar was tested for Covid positive, he telephoned him and enquired about his health. Nitish Kumar had then expressed his desire to meet and this materialized, Mr. Prashant Kishor told reporters.
Prashant Kishor, poll strategist, having earned huge props with Mamata Banerjee's Bengal win, has been proactive in efforts to rally opposition forces against the BJP - Nitish Kumar's ally - for the 2024 national election.
Mr. Kishor was the National President of Janata Dal-United, his relationship with Nitish soured within a month, later he was sacked from the party.
However, Mr. Kishor had recollected his cordial relationship with Nitish Kumar and worked with him closely in the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections. Kishor wished to reconnect with Bihar strongman if the occasion arise.
PK’s political consultancy firm I- PAC has been working with Trinamool congress since the Bengal election last year. But now I-PAC is in news for the wrong reasons for meddling with Trinamool Congress internal affairs, It has also been caught in the crossfire between Mamata Banerjee and her nephew Abhishek Banerjee.

Since he returned to power in the 2020 Bihar election with a vastly diminished share in the alliance, Nitish Kumar has struggled to keep the BJP "in check".
