Shivamogga: Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports K.C.Narayan Swamy who is also in-charge  minister Shivamogga district stated old rivalry was led to the killing of Bajrang Dal activist Harsha and there is no fundamental organization behind this incident. 

After conducting a meeting with the deputy commissioner, superintendent of police, and Inspector General of Police at Shivamogga, Mr. Narayanswamy said that “no organization was behind this killing. Mr. Harsha had an old rivalry with accused Kasim. Six months back there was a small clash between Harsha and Kasim. This clash can be sorted out through talks, but it went escalated and ended with the murder of Harsha”, Minister told reporters after the meeting. 

The clash between Harsha and the accused can be sorted out with the intervention of seniors. After a minor clash at court premises, some rare incidents occurred in the last six months, but it ended with the killing of Bajrang Dal leader, Minister added while denying the involvement of any fundamental organization in the killing of Bajrang Dal leader.

However, sources said that police have taken into custody all six accused who were involved in the crime. According to police sources, police have taken into the custody of 12 accused in connection to the case.

Home Minister Araga Jnanendra confirmed that police have taken 12 accused of interrogation. The details of the accused persons cannot be disclosed at this state. Police will investigate the crime from all angles, the minister said. 

Before executing the plan, the accused have closely watched the movements of Harsha. Since Sunday morning, the accused have followed his movements and executed plan at Sunday evening said police sources. 

However, the incident turned into violence in Shivamogga city. During the procession march of mortal remains of Harsha, angry mobs pelted stones and set the vehicles on fire. 

Provocative statements of the RDPR minister, local BJP leaders, and right-wing organization leaders have poured fuel into the fire. Mr. Eshwarappa openly remarked that Muslim goons are behind the killing of Harsha, his statement led to made tense situation in the city. Despite police having made effort to pacify the angry mobs, stone-pelting incidents took place in the city. 

Minister Narayanswamy said that “Harsha’s killing was unfortunate and painful incident. I have held discussions with DC, SP, and IG. Additional police forces have been deployed to bring normalcy to the city. 144 section will be continued in the city and schools and colleges are remain closed till normalcy is restored in the city, Mr. Narayan Swamy said.
