Peace talks with Russia more complicated: Ukrainian President Zelenskyy

Kyiv: Claiming that dialogue to achieve peace in Ukraine with Russia may be tough and could also become confrontational, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiyy however said that they are moving slowly towards the goal of better peace talks with Russia.

“ Indeed the talks are tough at this stage, however, we are moving forward step by step to find a better solution to the war”, he said in a video message.

In an early morning video address, Zelenskiyy also said 100,000 people were living in the besieged city of Mariupol in inhuman conditions, without food, water, or medicine.

While  Zelenskiyy is making efforts to bring Russia on a negotiating table,  Russian forces have continued to play havoc as the bombing is taking place relentlessly in Ukraine’s important city including Mariupol.

According to reports, two powerful bombs have rocked the city on Tuesday in Mariupol. The authorities were still not sure of the number of people who had died or were injured in the fresh attack.

While over two lakh people are still stuck in the city according to reports, the authorities have said that they are making every effort to rescue them even though they have limited space left to accommodate them.

President Zelenskiyy is seeking the help of the world community to help him in ending the war. He has been making fervent appeals not only to Putin to stop the war and come for peace talk, he has been urging world leaders including Pope to intervene in the matter
