PM security breach: Karnataka BJP urges President to dismiss Punjab government
Bengaluru: Karnataka BJP petitioned President Ram Nath Kovid to dismiss the Punjab government for its alleged failure in providing proper security arrangements to the Prime Minister during his visit to Punjab on Wednesday.
State BJP President, Nalin Kumar Kateel demanded the President through Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot to dismiss the Chief Minister Charanjit Channi government for its failure in handling PM security.
BJP has also urged the President to impose President rule in Punjab till state machinery is getting free from pro-Khalistanis.
Punjab government has colluded with Khalistanis and other external forces and committed Prime Minister’s security breach. It was an intentional crime on part of the Punjab government and ignoring the safety of the Prime Minister and breaching the security of the Prime Minister is a threat to national security. Punjab government has joined hands with Khalistani forces, BJP alleged.
Anti-national forces have joined hands against the Nationalist leader and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Punjab government has a tacit understanding with these forces, this act of the Punjab government is condemnable, BJP stated in the memorandum.
After SPG gets a green signal from Punjab DGP, the Prime Minister has proceeded to the National Martyrs Memorial in Hussainiwala from Bathinda airport. Due to bad weather and rain, he travelled by road to reach the destination, but his convey was stranded at a flyover near Hussainiwala.
Soon after the incident, both Congress and BJP levelled charges against each other. The Punjab government blamed the Prime Minister SPG for not heeding its suggestion not to take the road route. The Centre has blamed the Punjab government that it has informed Punjab DGP about Prime Minister’s route plan. Both Centre and Punjab have ordered for an enquiry to probe the matter.
