Pro-incumbency for BJP in Uttarakhand
Despite the change of three chief ministers within a span of three months, instability has not come in the way for BJP to retain power in the hilly state.
What will be more surprising is that the BJP is clearly defeating the strong notion that the party changing three CMs in five years will backfire the party in polls.
It seems that three CMs of the party heading the state in five years has made no impact on the voters. The people have exhibited their faith in the saffron party.
Notwithstanding its incumbent Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is trailing, the party is set to return for power for a second term.
Prime Minister has taken personal interest during the elections campaign. Due to his credibility and popularity in the state, Uttarakhand voters have given BJP a second term.
The political analysts believe that the people of the state did not take the matter seriously about the party changing three CM. They also feel that the charisma of PM Modi has worked in the polls. On the other hand, Congress failed to take political advantage of States witnessing three CMs. The intent bickering of the grand old party and unity shown by the saffron party has worked for the party.
