Rahul Gandhi arrives in Bengaluru, heads to Tumkuru
Upon his arrival, Gandhi headed to Sri Siddaganga Mutt in Tumkuru to pay homage to the tomb of Dr Shivakumar Swamiji.
Bengaluru: KPCC President DK Shivakuamr and Karnataka Congress leaders welcomed Rahul Gandhi on Thursday. Gandhi is to address party leaders and cadres tomorrow in Bengaluru.
Upon his arrival, Gandhi headed to Sri Siddaganga Mutt in Tumkuru to pay homage to the tomb of Dr Shivakumar Swamiji.
According to state DK Shivakumar, Rahul Gandhi will take part in 115th birth anniversary celebrations of Lingayat seer Late Dr Shivakumar Swamiji of Siddaganga Mutt in Tumkur.
After attending the fucntion in Tumkuru, Rahul Gandhi to address the party leaders at 10.30 AM in Bengaluru.
The two-day visit by Rahul Gandhi is aimed to strengthen the party, for which many meetings are scheduled, according to the party workers.
Speaking to ANI on Gandhi's visit to the state, senior Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge said that he will be meeting senior leaders and will be looking to strengthen the party for the upcoming polls.
"He will be meeting senior leaders, frontal organisation, party executive committee. He will also visit the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee office," Kharge said.
