Rahul Gandhi sets a target of 150 seats for Congress

Bengaluru: Former AICC President Rahul Gandhi set a target of winning 150 seats in the next Assembly elections in Karnataka.

Addressing party leaders and workers at the KPCC extended executive meeting in Bengaluru, Rahul Gandhi said he would not accept even one seat less than 150 in the next election, and he said it was not a big task but an easy task. He also advised leaders to fight the election unitedly and ensure that Congress wins at least 150 seats in the upcoming elections.

Gandhi also advised leaders to fight on the right issues, asked the leaders to raise issues such as unemployment, inflation, and wrong economic policies of the BJP government before the public and tried to convince them how the saffron party failed to address the genuine issues haunting the public.

Gandhi said that Karnataka is a natural Congress state and the government ruling here did not come to power in a legitimate way. He gave a clarion call to the party workers to roll up their sleeves to work for the party to win the next Assembly election and asked them to bear in mind that they have to win at least 150 seats in the next Assembly elections.

The Gandhi scion said that the party would recognise the work of the loyal party workers who worked hard for the party and to propagate the ideology of the party. He said the party would give them relevant positions for the genuine Congress workers who fought for the party.

He said party service would be considered while selecting a candidate to run for the election. Gandhi said that the BJP would not speak on unemployment, wrong GST implementation, demonitisation, controversial farm laws, wrong economic policies, inflation, fuel price hike, corruption, so these issues should be highlighted while addressing the people, he said.

He also gave a call to the leaders to include women and youth in the party and in the election. He said a new Congress should be projected to the people of Karnataka in the next election.

Gandhi also stated that the Siddaramaiah-led government did excellent work and implemented many people-friendly programs, and that those efforts should be highlighted and brought to the attention of the public.
