Mumbai: The Rajasthan Royals (RR) won their second consecutive Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 game on Saturday, defeating the Mumbai Indians (MI) by 23 runs at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.
Rajasthan Royals batsman Jos Buttler became the season's first centurion as his superb knock propelled the Rajasthan Royals to a dominant total of 193/8 before the RR bowling unit successfully defended the score to win the game by 23 runs.
MI has yet to register its first victory this season. This was the second consecutive defeat for the team.

MI lost 2 wickets in the first power play and the score was just 50 runs on board. For the third wicket partnership, Ishan Kishan and Tilak Varma stitched a 50-run partnership. By the end of the 10th over, MI was on 94 for the loss of two wickets.
Ishan Kishan, who was looking good, was dismissed at 54. Later, Tilak Varma followed him to the pavilion, where he scored 61 runs. Kieron Pollard hit 22 runs in 24 balls, but his effort did not help MI.
Earlier, batting first, RR lost their first wicket in the form of Yashasvi Jaiswal. He departed for just one run. It was Jose Buttler and Sanju Samson who built a partnership of 78 runs after the early dismissal of stylish batsman Devdutt Padikkal (7). After the dismissal of skipper Sanju Samson ( 30), Shimron Hetmyer and Buttler added 53 runs quickly to the score. After the dismissal of Hetmyer, the team lost wickets in quick succession, finally scoring 193.
