Russian pilots calls war on Ukraine is a crime
The pilot, who is upset with Putin for calling for war, is seen telling the passengers on board that he believes sensible citizens will do everything to put an end to violence.
At the time when Russian President, Vladimir Putin was facing sharp criticism from various quarters including from his own countrymen for waging war against Ukraine, an incident of one the pilots of Russia calling the war as ‘crime’ could add little more to the embarrassment of Putin.
A video is now going viral on social media platforms where the Russian pilot has described the war as a crime and added that he thinks that any sensible citizens will agree with him and will do everything to make it stop.
The pilot, who is upset with Putin for calling for war, is seen telling the passengers on board that he believes sensible citizens will do everything to put an end to violence.
A video of the pilot’s message was tweeted by The Guardian journalist Pjotr Sauer. “The war in Ukraine is a crime,” the pilot was quoted as saying by Sauer.
The pilot called for an immediate end to the war. The journalist believes that such open public opposition of Russia’s war over Ukraine is rare, mainly considering the consequences it would have.
According to the reports, the pilot is working for Pobeda, a subsidiary of Russia’s flag carrier Aeroflot. He delivered his message to passengers on reaching the Turkish city of Antalya which received applause also from a section of passengers.
Meanwhile, Ukrainians are passing through extremely tough times after Russia began war over Ukraine. The continuous shelling and bombardment has already killed hundreds of people and rendered millions homeless.
A report claims that over 2.5 million people have already fled Ukraine and reached other countries such as Poland for safety.
While a section of citizens of Russia are opposing the move of Putin, several other nationals have expressed anguish by severing their ties with or shutting down their business operations with Russia.
The financial sanctions and shutting down of the business by a number of international brands is expected to cause major economic crises in Russia.
Amid the increasing criticism, it is reported that Russian authorities have begun putting curbs on access to Twitter and blocked Facebook.
