Jet Airways, one of the prominent airlines which has been grounded for quite some time for various reasons, has decided to appoint Sanjeev Kapoor as its new Chief Executive Officer.

The airline which plans to resume its airline operations has made the decision of giving the prominent responsibility to Kapoor with effect from March 4 itself.

The Airline company has recently appointed Vipula Gunatileka a Chief Financial Officer who was earlier working as CEO of Sri Lankan Airlines.

According to the reports, Kapoor is the second top level official who has been appointed by the airline to resume the operation.

The other appointments that have been made by the company are, Captain P. P. Singh as accountable manager, Singh has served in the Indian Air Force as Squadron Leader.

Expressing happiness over his appointment, Kapoor said that he is eager to join the aviation industry again. Admitting that the Jet Airway is out of operation for the last three years, he however was optimistic of resuming the operation and hit the skies again with renewed enthusiasm.

He said he wishes to transform the airline into one of the most preferred airlines by the customer by meeting the requirement of the large base of flyers.

Kapoor  who has experience of around two decades in the airline industry, has completed his MBAfrom Wharton University, Pennsylvania.

Having worked for various leading airline companies in Asia, Europe and America on prominent posts, he started his career in the aviation sector in 1997 by joining Northwest airlines of US.

Before getting an offer from Jet Airways, he was serving as president of Oberoi hotels, one of the oldest and premier star hotel chains.

With the appointment of Kapoor, even Jet  Airways is hopeful of making a strong impact and showing its presence back into the aviation sector.
