Bengaluru: Refusing to resign to the cabinet, the Rural Development and Panchyat Raj minister K.S.Eshwarappa said that he ‘doesn’t know’ about Santosh Patil.

Speaking to reporters in Mysuru soon after the suicide news flashed in electronic media, Mr. Eshwarappa said that he never met Santosh Patil and had not given any RDPR work order to him, pertaining to road works.

“Santosh Patil has accused me of taking 40 percent commission, he told media about people close to Eshwarappa demanding money. After his allegation, I have filed a defamation case against him. I think to afraid my complaint he has committed suicide”, Mr. Eshwarappa said.

Meanwhile, RDPR minister has refused to resign to the Cabinet. I have telephoned the Chief Minister and requested him to order for enquiry into the matter. Since I have not done any crime, why should I resign?, he questioned.

Police have not disclosed any information about his death. FSL team has arrived from Mangaluru to conduct mahazar.

Sources said that Belagavi police have informed the Udupi police about the missing Santosh. Santosh had come to Udupi with friends for site seeing. He committed suicide when friends are going out at morning.
