Seven killed in road accident near Jagaluru

Six persons were killed on spot, one person died on the way to the hospital. The accident occurred due to the negligence of the driver, he was asleep while driving during wee hours on Friday.

Davangere: Seven people have killed after the car in which they were travelling hit a road divider in Jagaluru taluk in the wee hours of Friday.

According to Jagaluru police, six-person died on a spot and one succumbed to injuries on the way to the hospital. Diseased persons identified, Mallanagouda (22), Santosh (21), Sanjeev (20), Jaibhim (18) residents of Yadgir district, Raghu, ( 23), resident of Vijayapura district, Siddesh (20). and Vedamurty (18), all residents of Vijayanagar district.

All were heading towards their native places from Bengaluru, Indica car in which they were travelling hit road divider near Kanakatte toll in Jagalur taluk. Dead bodies shifted to Jagaluru government hospitals. They were employed in Bengaluru. Police have said that driver fell asleep while driving and hit the divider around 4:00 am. Superintendent of Police C B Rishyanth visited the spot.

Diseased persons travelling to their native to celebrate the Makara Sankranti festival.

The car was completely crashed after it hit the divider. The accident occurred near Kananakatte of Jagaluru taluk on National Highway number 50.
