Bengaluru: Opposition leader in the Assembly, Siddaramaiah criticized the Uttar Pradesh government's action of detaining Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on her to meet deceased farmers’ family members who were killed in violence at Lakhimpur Kheri on Sunday.

Siddaramaiah tweeted that “ BJP government is not tolerating dissent and opposition, it has Talibani mindset to crush the opposition. The act of UP government detaining Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra was condemnable”, he said.

The opposition leader further said that Uttar Pradesh turned to be goonda Raj, where, women, Dalits, farmers are not safe. Law and order completely collapsed in UP, the President must intervene and dismiss the Yogi government, he demanded.

Uttar Pradesh government treating farmers are like its enemies, by using police force UP government is trying to crush the farmers protest, BJP has the killing mindset, it’s minister’s son has killed four farmers, Opposition leader added.

“It is unfortunate that innocent farmers, fighting for their rights, were run over by the convoy of @BJP4India, Minister of State for Home. It is alleged that the car was driven by Ajay Kumar Misra's son.I condemn this brutal act intended to target the protestors”, Mr. Siddaramaiah said in another tweet.
