Siddu requests his supporters not to call him future cm
Bengaluru: Opposition leader Siddaramaiah requested his supporting Congress MLAs not to call him the future Chief Minister.
Siddaramaiah’s request to his diehard supporters came after party high command gave a diktat to KPCC leaders not to meddle in controversy. A few days back Congress Karnataka in-charge Randeep Singh Surjewala instructed party MLAs not to give controversial statements over CM candidate for 2023 Assembly elections.
Congress MLAs, Zameer Ahmed Khan, Rajshekar Itnal, and Akanda Srinivasamurthy openly called Siddaramaiah as the future CM, their statement had triggered controversy in the party, KPCC President D.K.Shivakumar prevailed upon party high command to instruct errant MLAs not to air such statements.
Mr. Shivakumar also stated that it was the duty of Congress legislative party leaders to mind the MLAs not to give such controversial statements, he not, party high command will look into the matter.
Siddaramaiah requested party MLAs not to give such statements, “since there are two years left for Assembly polls. After the elections, party MLAs will elect their leaders. Congress high command will take a final call in this matter”, he said.
