Supreme Court likely to constitute technical committee to probe Pegasus row

New Delhi: The Supreme Court is likely to set up a technical enquire committee to probe allegations of Pegasus snooping spyware. The court will pass the formal order on next week. 

Chief Justice N.V. Ramana headed bench has heard the matter at length, observed that individual liberty of the citizen cannot be compromised and told the Centre not to mix national security issues with individual liberty. 

Chief Justice has orally told senior advocate Chander Uday Singh, who is appearing in one of the Pegasus petitions, while later mentioning the matter.

"We wanted to pass an order on the matter before this week... but few members we thought of considering to recommend for the technical committee has denied to take up the assignment for personal reasons, thus the delay, finalize the members for expert committee soon and the court will pass the order in this regard on next week”, the Chief Justice remarked.
