Uttar Pradesh Elections 2022: Two SP, one Congress MLA join BJP
Two Samajwadi Party MLAs and One Congress MLA joined BJP ahead of UP Assembly elections. Ruling BJP, SP, Congress and BSP are preparing for crucial UP polls, which is considered as a semi-final contest for 2024 Lok Sabha polls.
Lucknow: After switching over seven BJP MLAs to SP, two MLAs of the Samajwadi Party and one from Congress joined the ruling BJP.
Samajwadi Party MLA of Sirasganj constituency, Hariom Yadav accusing his party chief Akhilesh Yadav, running a party of bootlickers.
Samajwadi Party is no longer the party of Mulayam Singh Yadav. It is a party of bootlickers who have surrounded Akhilesh and want to weaken his party, Mr. Hariom Yadav told reporters after he quit the party.
"Ram Gopal Yadav (the Samajwadi Party's General Secretary and a Rajya Sabha MP) and his son do not want me in the party... they feel I am a threat to their existence," Hariom Yadav alleged.
Hariom Yadav was expelled from the party last year for anti-party activities. Mr. Hariom Yadav allegedly helped BJP Harshita Singh in the Firozabad panchayat. Mr. Yadav has joined the BJP in Delhi along with UP Deputy Chief Minister and state unit chief Swatantra Dev Singh.
Ruling BJP has inducted Hariom Yadav and Dharampal Singh from the Samajwadi Party, and the Congress' Naresh Saini. This induction has given some relief to the party as it lost seven MLAs within two days, all seven MLAs have joined SP
