UK review calls for greater support after Indian-origin doctor’s suicide
London, Mar 28 (PTI) An independent review into the culture at one of the UK’s major National Health Service (NHS) hospital trusts on Tuesday recommended greater support for doctors in training who are concerned about their mental health, in the wake of the suicide of an Indian-origin doctor.
Dr Vaishnavi Kumar, who worked at Birmingham Queen Elizabeth Hospital, died aged 35 in June 2022.
Her inquest last year heard how she felt “belittled” at work and would come home and cry.
