Uttarakhand rains: Amit Shah, CM Dhami hold high-level review meeting

Union Home Minister Amit Shah along with Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami held a high-level review meeting with officials of the State and Centre over the natural disaster in Uttarakhand on Thursday.

Dehradun:  Union Home Minister Amit Shah along with Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami held a high-level review meeting with officials of the State and Centre over the natural disaster in Uttarakhand on Thursday. 

Also, the Union Home Minister conducted an aerial survey of the rain-affected areas of Uttarakhand.

After the aerial survey, Amit Shah said, "I held a high level review meeting with officials of the State and Centre over the natural disaster in Uttarakhand. Due to timely rainfall alert, the extent of damage could be controlled. Now, the Char Dham Yatra has resumed".  

"There has been no tourist casualty so far due to heavy rains in Uttarakhand. More than 3500 people were rescued and  more than 16,000 precautionary evacuations were done. 17 NDRF teams, 7 SDRF teams, 15 companies of PAC, more than 5000 police personnel deployed", he said. 

According to the government report, 64 people are dead and more than 11 people are missing so far. Power stations to resume operations soon. The mobile network has been restored in 80 per cent of the state.
