Yogi government playing jail with criminals: Prime Minister Narendra Modi
After laying the foundation stone for Major Dhyan Chand Sports University in Meerut, Prime Minister said, earlier there were tournaments of illegal gambling, now it has been stopped by Yogi Adityananath government, he said.

Addressing a public meeting here on Sunday, Prime Minister said that earlier, Mafia and criminals used to play with their games, but now they are in jail.
After laying the foundation stone for Major Dhyan Chand Sports University in Meerut, Prime Minister said, earlier there were tournaments of illegal gambling, now it has been stopped by Yogi Adityananath government, he said.
People living in Meerut and adjoining areas can never forget how houses used to be set ablaze, and the earlier government used to indulge in games of criminals and the mafia and scot-free of them without bringing them under law. Now, all mafia and criminals are behind the bars, Prime Minister added.
Due to the land mafia, people have forcibly evicted their ancestral houses and left the city. It was a mass exodus, people have left the city with fear, Prime Minister blamed the previous government.
"The role of the government should be that of a guardian. Capability ('yogyata') should be encouraged. In the event of youths committing a mistake it should not be ignored by saying 'boys make mistakes (ladhko se galtee ho jaati hai)”, Prime Minister said by taking swipe at SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav.
