6 new faces in Bommai Cabinet, 7 dropped
Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai will have six new faces in the Cabinet and seven senior minsters are dropped. In a much anticipated oath-taking ceremony held at Raj Bhavan 29 BJP MLAs took oath as ministers.
Shankar Patil Munenakoppa, V. Sunil Kumar, Araga Jnanendra, Halappa Achar, B.C. Nagesh, Munirathna Naidu- are fist-time ministers.
On the other hand, Laxman Sawadi, Jagadish Shettar, Suresh Kumar, Aravind Limbavali, R. Shankar, Srimantha Patil , C.P. Yogeshwar were dropped.
Amongst 'Bombay Friends'- Congress leaders who defected to join the BS Yediyurappa's Cabinet in 2019- 10 leaders are successful in retaining the ministership.
They are: Dr. K. Sudhakar, Byrathi Basavaraj, Narayana Gowda, B.C.Patil, K.Gopalaih, S.T. Somashekar, Shivaram Hebbar, Munirathna Naidu, Anand Singh, and MTB Nagaraj
Earlier, Chief Minster Basavaraj Bommai said, “The Cabinet is a combination of experienced leaders and enthusiastic young leaders. Totally 29 MLAs will take the oath of office and secrecy today afternoon at Raj Bhavan”.
