Parents urge PM Modi to expedite evacuation of students from Ukraine
After the tragic killing of medical student Naveen Shekarappa Nyamgowder in Kharkiv, parents of the students studying in Ukraine urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to expedite the evacuation process of Indian students from war-torn Ukraine.

Haveri( Karnataka) Venkatesh, a resident of Chalageri village and a friend of Shekharappa Naveen's father, has requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to expedite the evacuation of all Indians who stranded in war-torn Ukraine.
Speaking to reporters that his son was also a student at Naveen's college, that Naveen and his son were good friends, and that they shared a bunker. Venkatesh stated that Naveen awoke early in the morning and went outside to buy food and that while he was out, he was killed in the shooting event.
Venkatesh stated that his son had urged Naveen not to go outdoors, but he did so without telling anyone. He said the students are facing lots of problems and are confined to the bunker. They don't have any food or water. They haven't eaten anything for three days. Venkatesh quoted his son as saying, "They ate chocolates yesterday."

Meanwhile, Naveen's cousin spoke with an MEA officer, who confirmed that Naveen died as a result of Russian heavy shelling.
The officer informed his cousin that his body had been kept in a morgue and that the MEA is working hard to return his mortal remains to India.
Naveen's bunker mate Amit told the reporters that they slept late last night and that he woke up late, but Naveen went to the market at 6 a.m. to get some food, but at 7.58 a.m., Naveen dialed again and asked his friends to transfer some money since he had a cash shortage on his card. When other friends contacted to ask why he was taking so long, they were told by a Ukrainian that he had died.
