Amit Shah says, 'I love Hindi language more than Gujarati'
Union Minister Amit Shah, who is on a two-day visit to Varanasi, said he loved Hindi more than his mother tongue Gujarati.

Varanasi: Union Minister Amit Shah, who is on a two-day visit to Varanasi, said he loved Hindi more than his mother tongue Gujarati.
While addressing 'Akhil Bharatiya Rajbhasha Sammelan' in Varanasi, Amit Shah said, "I love Hindi language more than Gujarati. We need to strengthen our Rajbhasha."
"Talk to your children in your mother tongue. There is nothing to be shy about, our mother language is our pride," Union Home Minister Amit Shah advised parents.
Shah said one of the main points of the New Education Policy (NEP) of the country is the protection and promotion of languages and of the official language. "In the new education policy, emphasis has been given to both official language and mother tongue. The new change that the Prime Minister has brought in will change the future of India", Shah said.
Union minister Amit Shah is on a two-day visit to Varanasi, Lok Sabha constituency of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, ahead of the state assembly elections. During the two-day visit, Shah attended Akhil Bharatiya Rajbhasha Sammelan in Varanasi. He held meetings with BJP office-bearers including state chief minister Yogi Adityanath and his deputy Keshav Prasad Maurya.
The next legislative Assembly elections will be held in Uttar Pradesh in the month of February to March 2022 to elect 403 members of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly.
