New Delhi: The tragic killing of 13 civilians in Nagaland's Mon district rocked both houses of the Parliament as Winter Session resumed on Monday.
LoP Rajya Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge, said, "We'll demand that the Home Minister give his statement before both Houses and give his detailed view on the incident, we're expecting it. It's a very sensitive incident. It shouldn't have happened. He should answer why did it happen".

Meanwhile, PM Narendra Modi held a meeting with top ministers in Parliament to discuss various issues including the Nagaland firing incident and the government's strategy in both Houses.
Subsequently, Union Home Minister Amit Shah decided to give a statement on the Nagaland firing incident in both the Houses of Parliament.
Thirteen civilians were killed and 11 others injured by security forces in two consecutive incidents of firing based on 'credible intelligence', the first of which was possibly a case of mistaken identity. Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio will be visiting Mon on Monday morning accompanied by his cabinet colleagues and senior government officers to take an on the spot assessment of the situation and pay respect to the deceased, he said.
