Arvind Kejriwal hold virtual meeting with Punjab AAP MLAs.

Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal hold a virtual meeting with his party's MLAs from Punjab on Sunday.

AAP's national convenor has taken a virtual meeting with ruling party MLAs that will be held in Mohali today. In the recently concluded Assembly elections, the AAP stormed to power in Punjab, winning 92 seats out of 117. Bhagwant Mann, who won from the Dhuri seat, was sworn-in as the Punjab CM in Khatkar Kalan, the native village of legendary freedom fighter Bhagat Singh.

As many as 10 MLAs were sworn in as ministers in Mann’s cabinet, which has the capacity to adopt 17 ministers. Punjab Governor Banwarilal Purohit administered the oath of office and secrecy to the 10 ministers, one of whom was a woman MLA, at Punjab Bhawan in Chandigarh.

According to the rules, Mann can have a ministry of up to 17 members. Kultar Singh Sandhwan, a second-term MLA representing Kotkapura, took oath as the Speaker of the Vidhan Sabha.

The AAP list of ministers includes only one woman and two Hindus, four Jats, and the party has accommodated four SCs in the initial list. It has given representation to five Malwa districts; four Majha districts, and only one Doaba district.

Many giant-killers failed to get a place in Mann’s cabinet, including Labh Singh Ughoke, who defeated former CM Charanjit Singh Channi, Gurmeet Singh, who defeated former CM Prakash Singh Badal, Ajit Pal Singh Kohli, who defeated former CM Capt Amarinder Singh, and Jagdeep Singh Kamboj Goldy, who defeated former Deputy CM Sukhbir Singh Badal.

The majority of second-timers have likewise been neglected by the party. Sunam MLA Aman Arora, who won with the largest margin of victory in the state (almost 70,000 votes), has also been overlooked.

Kuldip Singh Dhaliwal from Ajnala, Dr. Vijay Singla from Mansa, Dr. Lal Chand Kataru Chak from Bhoa, Dr. Baljit Kaur from Malout, Harbhajan Singh ETO from Jandiala, Harjot Singh Bains from Anandpur Sahib, Bram Shankar (Jimpa) from Hoshiarpur, and Laljit Singh Bhullar from Patti made it to the cabinet.
