Ashraf Ghani's brother pledges support to Taliban: Report
Kabul: Exiled President Ashraf Ghani's brother Hashmat Ghani reportedly pledged allegiance to the Taliban. Videos of Taliban leaders meeting Hashmat Ghani doing rounds on social media.
Hashmat Ghani is Grand Council Chieftain of the Kuchis, has strained relations with his elder brother Ashraf Ghani who is in UAE.
As the news of his support to the Taliban is started doing rounds, Hashmat Ghani said in a tweet that "Taliban are well capable of bringing security". He rejected the idea of coalition government for Afghanistan.

Ghani tweeted, "Taliban are well capable of bringing security but running a functional government require the input and collaboration of younger educated afghans. The so called expired politicians should be sidelined completely so failed experience of coalition government is not repeated."
"Those of us that will remain in the country we should not be persuaded to use the ethnic card as means to get government share just so few can loot country once more .it is a challenging time. So do what you can for the country without asking for a seat of power".
Ashraf Ghani fled Afghanistan after the Taliban captured Kabul. In his first public statement after fleeing Afghanistan, Ashraf Ghani said he had left Kabul to prevent bloodshed.
After capturing Kabul, Taliban leaders are reaching out to leaders of previous government to build consensus. Taliban met with Hashmat Ghani after announcing to unveil a new governing framework for Afghanistan in the next few weeks.
