Bangladesh PM thanks PM Modi for evacuating foreign students
New Delhi: Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for evacuating nine citizens of her country from war-torn Ukraine.
Under evacuation mission, ‘Operation Ganga’, India has rescued stranded citizens, mostly students, of several other nations, including Pakistan, Nepal and Tunisia, from war-hit Ukraine.
A convoy consisting of 12 buses left from Sumy, Ukraine, left on March 8. Officials of the Indian Embassy were Red Cross are escorting students. Bangladeshis and Nepalis have also been facilitated. They were enroute to Poltava region.

As of March 2, 566 Bangladeshi nationals had safely crossed the Ukraine border to neighbouring countries. Among them, 532 were in Poland, 28 in Hungary, and three each in Slovakia and Romania.
