Bengaluru Police arrests imposter working for Pakistan's ISI

Bengaluru: In a joint operation, Bengaluru Police and Southern Command Military Intelligence arrested a spy who was sending vital defence information to Pakistan's spy agency ISI.

Central Crime Branch, Bengaluru, in a statement said, "On information from Military Intelligence, CCB arrested one accused of taking photographs of vital installations, defence establishments and sharing with foreign agencies".

The spy arrested by the police was identified as, Jitender Singh, who was impersonated as an army officer. The police stated that he was in communication with Pak based ISI officer over Whatsapp. He had shared photos, details of the Army area and carried out reconnaissance of Army posts near IB.

Also, the accused was providing photographs of Barmer, Rajasthan, military station and reported all military vehicles movement from that area to the Pak-based ISI officer.

A case has been registered under Official Secrets Act and Indian Penal Code.
