New Delhi: Popular Front of India (PFI) is an organization that has always been under the eye of the storm of members of right-wing outfits. These outfits have been accusing PFI of spreading communal hatred and have been demanding the BJP governments ban the organisation.
Now, Congress has joined the league where it has wondered why the BJP government not banning the Popular Front of India (PFI) if it is spreading hatred and disharmony.
Accusing the BJP of using organisations such as a PFI to shield Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate said that if an organisation like PFI is spreading hatred and disharmony then the BJP government should have banned it long ago.
“You (the BJP) have been in power for the last eight years at the centre, you have your double engines in states, why are you not banning the PFI? she wondered.
Supriya Shrinat chided that the BJP is deliberately not banning PFI because it does so, who the BJP will blame for spreading hatred and continuing to play its politics?
“ How will you divert the attention of the public from the main issue when PFI becomes banned outfit?" she said.
"Sardar Patel banned the RSS on February 4, 1948 for spreading violence and hysteria within five days of Mahatma Gandhi's assassination; Why Modiji is not able to do this? Why is PFI not being banned for the last eight years?" She said Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has been asking for a ban on PFI since 2021.
"It is close to one year, why are you not banning it?" "In December 2020, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta told the Supreme Court that the government was going to ban PFI. It is now April 2022. Why is PFI not banned?"
She also mentioned a question asked in the Lok Sabha by BJP MP Tejaswi Surya. "On September 15, 2020, the then President of Yuva Morcha, who is now roaming around as a mascot of hatred, Tejashwi Suryaji, asked why is the PFI not being banned? The government said they will take necessary action when the evidence comes.
