BJP workers must tell voters to vote: Prime Minister Narendra Modi
Elections for Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Goa and Manipur will start from February 10. Uttar Pradesh will go for seven-phase elections. The counting of votes will take place on March 10.
New Delhi: With less than a month left for crucial Assembly polls for five states, Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with BJP workers of his Lok Sabha constituency Varanasi, asked them to educate voters about the importance of voting.
He asked his party workers and leaders to inform people about the importance of voting and educate them that every vote is important. “Each vote is important, we must tell people the importance of voting”, the Prime Minister said.
Prime Minister has interacted with his constituency leaders, asking them to be actively involved in campaigning. He requested the party workers that since the Covid pandemic is around, the Election Commission has asked all parties to do virtual campaigning, so bjp workers should work hard in the elections, he said.
The Election Commission has banned all kinds of public meetings, padayatra, roadshows, rallies till January 22. However, it has allowed parties to conduct an indoor meeting with a capacity of 300 people. Meanwhile, the Commission has instructed political parties to adhere model code of conduct.
