CM instructs district in-charge ministers to oversee flood situation
Bengaluru: Unprecedented rain has havocked the Mumbai-Karnataka region, the state government has rushed the rescue operation by shifting the people from submerged areas to a safer place.
The Chief Minister B.S.Yediyurappa has directed all district in-charge ministers and MLAs to be present in their respective districts and constituencies to oversee rescue and relief efforts being carried out by district administrations.
The Chief Minister tweeted that “ I have spoken to district commissioners and reviewed the situation arising due to incessant rain in several parts of the state. The state government will extend all necessary support to the relief and rescue efforts and assist farmers who suffered losses due to untimely rain and hailstorms”, he stated in tweets.
Belagavi, Hubballi-Dharwad, Uttara Kannada, Bagalkote districts have flooded with continuous rain, and major rivers in these districts are overflowing.
NDRF team has reached to flood-affected places and rescue operation is on. NDRF team has rescued people in Nippani, Karwar, shifted them to relief centers.
Landslide reported in some parts of Kodagu district, and due to landslide in Charmadi ghat, traffic movement in Bengaluru- Managaluru road has been effected.
