Maharashtra rain: Landslides claim 36 lives in Raigad
Mumbai: At least 36 people died in Raigad district due to landslides; 32 of them died in Talai and four in Sakhar Sutar Wadi.
Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has ordered the evacuation and relocation of people living in areas where there is a possibility of landslides.
Units of the Indian Navy and the Indian Army have joined the rescue and relief efforts in Ratnagiri and Raigad districts. CM Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray is taking regular updates on the situation, as per the update by CMO.

The chief minister has spoken to Hon’ble PM Narendra Modi and apprised him about the flood situation caused in parts of Maharashtra due to torrential rains. He also informed him about the ongoing rescue and relief works. The PM has assured all possible support.
PM Narendra Modi has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakhs each from PMNRF for the next of kin of those who lost their lives due to a landslide in Raigad Maharashtra. And Rs 50,000 to injured.
