Delhi schools and colleges will reopen from Monday
New Delhi: Schools, colleges and coaching institutes in Delhi can re-open from Monday, the Delhi Disaster Management Authority has also allowed to open gyms, swimming pools and spas.
Schools can re-open in a phased manner. 9th to 12th standard will reopen from February 7, nursery to 8th standard will resume from February 14, said Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia said. Teachers who aren’t vaccinated are not allowed to take classes.
Offices can work with 100 percent attendance and people driving cars alone need not wear masks, the government stated.
The decision was taken to reopen the classes after the fall in positivity rate and Covid19 cases. During the meeting chaired by Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal stressed the need to enhance the vaccination for 15 to 18 age group.
Daily COVID-19 cases in India in the two weeks between January 21 and February 3 have fallen by 50 per cent from 3,47,254 to 1,72,433.
