Didi meets Modi: Mamata discusses COVID, vaccines

New Delhi: West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee Tuesday discussed issues around the COVID-19 pandemic with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi.

After 30 minutes' meeting, Mamata Banerjee said, "It was a courtesy meeting with PM today. During the meeting, I raised the issue of COVID and the need for more vaccines and medicines in the state. I also raised the pending issue of the change of name of the state. On this issue, he said, "He will see.".

"PM should call an all-party meeting on the Pegasus issue. There should be a Supreme Court-monitored probe in this matter", said Mamata Banerjee.

Mamata Banerjee met PM Modi for the first time after West Bengal assembly elections. Both BJP and TMC locked horns over the post-poll violence in the state.

The West Bengal chief minister is also likely to meet Congress interim President Sonia Gandhi at around 4.30 pm on July 28. Mamata Banerjee's meetings are of great significance in the opposition's attempts to take on the BJP in the 2024 national election.
