Esha Deol returns as actor and producer
Esha Deol makes her return to films once again and this time she is also the producer and not just an actor. Ek Duaa, directed by Ramkamal and produced by Esha Deol along with Bharat Takhtani, Venkys and Aritra Das will premier on Voot on July 26. Bharat Takhtani is her husband.
The trailer of Ek Duaa was released on Monday. From details in the trailer, Esha Deol plays Adiba, a housewife who is under pressure from her mother-in-law to beget a boy child. Esha's character tries to fight for equality for her daughter.

Esha Deol has stated that she was first approached for the film only as an actress. But she took an interest in the script and along with her husband Bharat Takhtani decided to co-produce the film. In the backdrop of the ongoing pandemic, the film goes directly to the Voot OTT platform.
Esha Deol was last seen on screen in the Kannada film C/o Footpath Part 2 directed by Kishan in 2015. That film was also released in Hindi and Telugu. Before that she was seen in the 2011 film Tell Me O Khuda. Ek Duaa will therefore be only her third film in a decade.
