Ex-officer calls Kejriwal, Sisodia ‘prime conspirators’ in his assault case
Former chief secretary Anshu Prakash presented his side in the court during the hearing of his petition against a trial court order.
New Delhi: In an alleged assault case, an ex-bureaucrat has deposed before the Delhi High court where he alleged that Chief Minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal and Deputy CM Manish Sisodia were the two persons who were ‘mastermind’ who conspired that led to his assault.
Former chief secretary Anshu Prakash presented his side in the court during the hearing of his petition against a trial court order.
It may be noted that Prakash has filed a case that challenges the trial order that has discharged Kejriwal and Sisodia along with nine other Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs in the alleged assault case.
The criminal case relates to the alleged assault on Prakash during a meeting at Kejriwal's official residence on February 19, 2018.
Sidharth Luthra, an advocate who is representing Prakash, told Special Judge Geetanjali Goel that the trial court committed a mistake in its judgment where it has discharged the politicians in the case.
He also said that the AAP government did not allow the Delhi Police to file a revision petition against the trial court order, despite a written request by the probe agency.
The senior advocate accused Kejriwal and Sisodia of being the main conspirators in the case. Some 11 specific MLAs were called at the Chief Minister's residence at 12 midnight. The meeting was specifically kept in a drawing room of the Chief Minister, where there were no CCTV cameras and not in the designated meeting room with CCTV cameras, the counsel said.
He added that the legislators were asked to be present for the meeting at least an hour before the arrival of Prakash.
Claiming that the meeting was called which had no specific agenda, he said that the actual reason for the meeting was never disclosed.
The counsel told the court that the MLAs, including the Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister, who were discharged, have changed their stand before the court.
