Farmers killing: Rahul stages protest at Lucknow airport
UP police have insisted Rahul Gandhi board the official vehicle to travel SItapura, annoyed Congres leader argued with Police and staged protest at the airport
Lucknow: High dram prevailed at Lucknow airport soon after Congress leader Rahul Gandhi landed to meet the families of deceased farmers who were killed at Lakhimpur Kheri violence.
Congress leaders and UP police have a standoff at the airport, police have told Rahul that they will escort him to Sitapura where his sister waiting for him. However, Rahul Gandhi has reluctant to board a police escort vehicle, argued that he will come by his vehicle.
Rahul Gandhi staged dharana at the airport, refusing to board the official car of UP police. "Who are you to arrange my transport? I want to leave in my car," the Congress leader, accompanied by the Chief Ministers of Punjab and Chhattisgarh, said. Later police have allowed to Rahul Gandhi and other Congress leaders to board their car.
