Bengaluru: Bengaluru Police has asked organisers of stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui's show scheduled on Sunday at Good Shephard Auditorium, at 5 PM.

"There's credible info that several organisations could create chaos leading to law and order problems," news agency ANI quoted police as saying.

Munawar Faruqui took the year 2020 by storm by becoming an Internet Sensation. He has been one of the fastest-growing Stand-up Comedians of India.
Early this year, Faruqui's shows have been cancelled for allegedly making malicious jokes about Hindu deities. While on his all-India tour where he was performing comedy in different cities.
On 1 January 2021, his stand-up show at Munro Cafe in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, was interrupted by Eklavya Singh Gaur, son of BJP MLA Malini Gaur and member of Hind Rakshak Sangathan, accusing him of making malicious jokes about Hindu deities and the Union Home Minister Amit Shah. On 2 January, he was arrested by Madhya Pradesh Police amid his comic act.
