Karnataka Govt announces special surveillance measures due to recent clusters of COVID-19
Students in hostels who have got negative RTPCR test reports would have to get the RTPCR test done again on the 7th day after the first report.
Bengaluru: Amidst care over the new coronavirus variant 'Omicron', the government of Karnataka on Sunday made the production of RT-PCR negative report (irrespective of vaccination status) not older than 72 hours mandatory at the entry point for those arriving from Kerala and Maharashtra.
Also, the government has asked students who have arrived from Kerala in the last 15 days to undergo mandatory RT-PCR tests.
Students in hostels who have got negative RTPCR test reports would have to get the RTPCR test done again on the 7th day after the first report.
*More intense testing for students in medical and nursing colleges.
*Intensify screening of international travellers at airports. No entry into the cities for those who test positive.

*Those tested positive at airports would be sent to hospitals for treatment.
*Temporary ban on cultural programmes in schools and colleges.
Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai instructed the officials to go on an aggressive campaign to trace those who have not taken the second dose of the vaccine and cover them at the earliest.
