New Delhi: Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) members have called for nationwide 'Rail roko' in protest against the Lakhimpur Kheri incident on Monday. The union,an umbrella body of farmers' unions, said it will hold a peaceful nationwide rail roko protest from 10 am to 4 pm for justice in Lakhimpur Kheri violence.
Protestors blocked railway tracks at Bahadurgarh in protest. Also, farm law protestors sit on the railway track at Devi Dasspura village.
Rapid Action Force has been deployed at Sonipat Railway Station, in the wake of nationwide 'Rail roko'.
Kisan Ekta Morcha demanded that Union Home Minister for state Ajay Mishra Teni be removed as a Minister in Government of India and arrested immediately. Protests will only be intensified until justice is secured in the Lakhimpur Kheri Farmers massacre.
Days after the Singhu Lynching horror, Bharatiya Kisan Union leader, Rakesh Tikait has come forward and alleged conspiracy, stating that the Singhu murder was orchestrated in farmers protest.
“They (the Nihangs) have said that it is a religious matter and the government should not link it to farmers’ protest… Farmers have also said that this was a religious issue. We’re talking to the Nihangs and have told them that they’re not needed here as of now,” Tikait was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.
