G-23 leader Mansih Tewari dropped from Congress star campaigner list
Congress has divided the house in the poll-bound state Punjab. There is no coordination among leaders, Sidhu and Channi are locking horns with each other. Now the party has dropped Manish Tewari from the star campaigner list.
Amritsar: Congress is tactfully sidelining the G-23 rebel Congress leaders in five states Assembly elections, party has not included senior Congress leader Manish Tewari in the list of star campaigners list in Punjab. Mr. Tewari was in G-23 list along with Ghulam Nabi Azad and Kapil Sibal.
In his tweet, Mr. Tewari wrote, “I would have been pleasantly surprised if it would have been the other way around. The reasons are also no state secret”, he said.
Former Congress MP Abhijeet Mukherjee, who joined TMC last year called it sad state of affairs in Punjab that votes on February 20 in a single phase.
"Sad state of affairs in @INCPunjab as they exclude a prominent senior congress leader, MP from Punjab & former minister @ManishTewari Ji from the list of star campaigners in poll-bound Punjab! Such narrow-minded steps will never help Congress to win elections! (sic)," Mr. Mukherjee tweeted.
