Bell Bottom releasing on August 19
While every filmmaker was wondering who will bell the cat first, Akshay Kumar's Bell Bottom has decided to try it out. Bell Bottom will be the first big star release post the second wave of the pandemic.
The film had announced release dates earlier too, in April and July, but these had to be postponed due to the onset of the second wave. This time however, with the pandemic subsiding in most parts of India, the August 19 release date seems realistic.
The film was shot during the pandemic and stars Akshay Kumar, Vaani Kapoor, Huma Qureshi, Lara Dutta, among others. The director of the film is Ranjit M Tewari. It is set in the 1980s and revolves around India's espionage attempts abroad. It is said to be based on real-life events.
Akshay Kumar's previous film Laxmi had to be released directly on an OTT platform due to the pandemic. He also has Sooryavanshi and Atrangi Re-up for release soon.
