Belagavi: Union Minister for Surface Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari has launched 238 km length National Highway works in Kitturu Karnataka region.
Six-lane National Highway works of Maharashtra-Sankeshwar, Belagavgi – Sankeshwar bypass works at a cost of Rs.1500 crore and from Sankaeshwara to Maharashtra border at a cost of Rs. 1400 crore works will be taken up.
Minister has said that from Mumbai to Goa, Rs. 18,000 works will be completed by this year. After laying the foundation stone for High Way projects in the state here on Monday, Mr. Gadkari said that from Choral Jamboti to Belagavi, a two-lane NH will be constructed. Minister also said that Vijaypura-Muragundi and Siddapura- Vijayapura works will be taken up, he added.

Centre’s ambitious projects of Jalashakti will be produced on either side of National High Ways, said Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.
NH projects change transport scenario: Bommai: The Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai asserted that the ambitious National Highway projects which are being dedicated today would change the transport scenario in the state in the coming days.
Speaking to media persons in Hubballi he said, the development works being undertaken by the Union and State government would lay a strong foundation for development in the economic, social, and education sectors of the State.
"Today Union minister for Highways Nitin Gadkari is launching and dedicating to the nation a slew of projects in the State. Many development projects in the State have been implemented due to the commitment and diligence of Union minister Prahlad Joshi. Construction of National Highways works and Upgradation of State Highways are being implemented in the State under the leadership of Gadkari," Bommai said.
