Malayalam actor Kottayam Pradeep passes away, Mollywood pays tribute

Kochi: Senior Malayalam actor Kottayam Pradeep passed away after he suffered a heart attack at a private hospital in Kottayam on Thursday. He was 61. Pradeep was best known for his comedy roles.
Condolences were shared by Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and actors Mohanlal, Mammootty and Prithviraj Sukumaran.
Mohanlal said, "Tributes to dear Sri Kottayam Pradeep who has a place in the hearts of Malayalees through remarkable characters".
Pradeep initially worked as a junior artist and appeared in non-speaking and uncredited roles. His debut film was the 2001 film Ee Nadu Enale Vare which was directed by I. V. Sasi. He got a breakthrough from Gautham Vasudev Menon's film Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa. Pradeep has worked in popular movies like Black Coffee, Saras. Pradeep's previous film to hit the theatres was Black Coffee in the year 2021.
He is survived by his wife Maya and two children, son Vishnu and daughter Vrinda.
