School students to build satellite named after Puneeth Rajkumar
The minister inaugurated a 'Student Satellite Project' in his constituency Malleswaram. The students will build a satellite as per the school curriculum at the cost of Rs 1.90 crores.
Bengaluru: On the occasion of National Science Day, Higher Education Minister Ashwath Narayan distributed science kits to students on Monday for the building of a satellite to be named after late actor Puneeth Rajkumar.
The minister inaugurated a 'Student Satellite Project' in his constituency Malleswaram, Bengaluru. The students will build a satellite as per the school curriculum at the cost of Rs 1.90 crores.
"The Central Government has approved to launch of 75 satellites in association with the ISRO. Our government is committed to making our students more interested in the scientific field".
In November 2021, as a tribute to the late actor fondly known as 'Power Star' Puneeth Rajkumar, a baby elephant in the state was named after the actor. It is said that the actor, colloquially known as 'Appu', visited Sakrebailu elephant camp in the Shivamogga district before his death.
'Power Star' Puneeth Raj Kumar passed away on 29 October in Bengaluru. He was laid to rest with full state honours at Dr Rajkumar Punyabhoomi in Kanteerava Studio, next to his father and mother on October 31.
