Holy cow please forgive me - III
The animal husbandry department itself estimates the number of stray cattle in Delhi at 80,000. They roam the streets and flock at garbage dumps to eat, causing traffic disruption. Sometimes the cows get so hungry that they attack people eating at the roadside or restaurant. Wandering streets and blocking traffic is another problem that needs to be looked at. The number of gowshala in the country with proper facility has to increase.
In Bihar localities say, they don't have money to feed themselves let alone the cows ! There are scary reports about how many cows from parts of North India are smuggled outside the country through different border parts.
The condition is much worse for bulls who in their old age are left to fend for themselves without food, water and medicines and die on the roads without any help.Once they stop giving milk, they are abandoned on the roads who eventually die due to proper care and protection. Government has enough initiatives however it will help in case localities can feed some leftover portion of their foods to cows in their residents.
