In harayana there are 5 lakh stray cattles. Says one farmer on condition of anonimity the owners of the cows remove milk and leave them to roam the roads the entire day. Some eat grass and fill their stomach but a large number remain malnourished as owners can't afford to feed them on a daily basis. While the different state governments have different initiatives for cows, the implementation is largely evasive. Says another auto driver on condition of anonymity - the gowshala owners don't use the entire fund for feeding cows dues to corruption in the system. They pocket some of the money for their own benefit. Many times you are privy to scenes of cows nauseating on the roads due to lack of proper care and food
