Kyiv: The injured student of India, Harjot Singh, who sustained bullet injury while trying to escape from war-ravaged Ukraine, is all set to return to India latest by Monday.
A news agency referring to the statement of Union Minister, V. K. Singh has confirmed that the students who were stranded in Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, are coming back to reunite with the family.

Harjot Singh has crossed the border and entered Poland. Indian diplomats present with him. He has been shifted into an ambulance provided by Polish RedCross on the border: Puneet Singh Chandhok, president, Indian World Forum
The news agencies had reported on Friday that Harjot got injured after bullets hitting him when he was making an attempt to get out of the city which was witnessing shelling and attacks by Russian forces.

In his tweet, the Minister said that “Harjot Singh, the Indian student who was shot during the conflict in Kyiv and had lost his passport in the chaos, will be reaching India with us tomorrow. Wish him a speedy recovery with home food and care.”

Meanwhile, speaking to some media channels from his hospital bed in Kyiv, Harjot had made a request to the Indian government to make immediate arrangements for his evacuation from the war-torn country.
He also requested the India embassy to prepare the required documents as he had lost his passport. He had told the media agency that he sustained multiple injuries due to bullets fired at the car in which he was traveling.
He had said that on February 27, he along with two persons were moving in the car towards a safer place but locals had asked them to return because of the heavy firing taking place. While they were returning, suddenly several bullets were fired at their car in which he sustained injuries.
He said that after being hit by bullets, he had fallen unconscious, however, he regained it only on the night of March 2 and said that he has got a new life.
