Leadership change: rebel MLAs seeks intervention of Suttur math

Bengaluru: In a bid to their attempt to unseat B.S.Yediyurappa from CM post, the BJP rebel MLAs have sought the intervention of Suttur Math pontiff Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji. 

It seems rebel MLAs have not ready to give up their attempt to change the leadership in the state. After briefing the party, central leadership about the change of Yediyurappa from CM post, Tourism minister C.P. Yogishwar, Hubballi-Dharwad West MLA, Aravind Bellad had met Suttur pontiff discussed the issue. 

Mr. Bellad has refused to divulge the details of his meeting with the pontiff, however, sources in the party stated that he has explained in detail the ground-level situation in the party and the need for a change of leadership in the state.

A week back, Mr.Yogishwar had met the pontiff, explained to him about too much ‘interference’ of family members of the Chief Minister in the day-to-day administration of the government.

Among rebel MLAs, C.P. Yogishwar, Basanagowda Patil Yatnal, and Aravind Bellad were frontrunners to unseat Mr. Yediyurappa from cm post. 

Suttur Math having immense clout with all political parties, especially with the ruling BJP. Even party central leaders have often visited this Math to seek blessings of Swamiji. 

Rebel MLAs have reportedly sought the intervention of the Swamiji in the matter to guide them and resolve the leadership issue the state, sources said. 

Meanwhile, former minister Ramesh Jarakiholi, who resigned to the BSY ministry after the CD gate scandal has miffed with the Chief Minister. He met Maharashtra opposition leader Devendra Fadnavis at Mumbai, seeking his intervention in Karnataka bjp affairs. 

Sources close to him said that Mr. Jarakiholi also decided to meet Suttur pontiff in this regard.
