"Modi is a big liar", Siddaramaiah

Bengaluru: Former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has no moral right to criticize Jawaharlal Nehru and he termed Modi as a ‘big liar’.

Speaking on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Jawaharlal Nehru, Mr. Siddaramaiah said, “Nehru was built modern India and under his leadership, India achieved self-sufficient in food production, but under the regime of Narendra Modi, Country is heading towards bankruptcy”,  he remarked.

Noting the achievements of the first Prime Minister of India, Mr. Siddaramaiah said, Nehru was the model Prime Minister of the Country, he emphases for science and technology, however, the present Prime Minister is encouraging blind belief. During the Covid pandemic, Prime Minister Modi asked people to beat drums and claps, he recalled.

“In ‘mann ki baat’ program, Modi blamed Congress for a hike of petrol and diesel. It was his blatant lie. Due to the increase in excise duty by the Centre, the price of Petrol and Diesel increased. But Modi has misled the Country and people. He is in the wrong impression that people will believe his words”, Mr. Siddaramaiah criticized.

Nehru never hated the opposition leaders, he was a listener and a great democrat. He never escapes the debate in the Parliament. But Prime Minister Modi never turned up to the Parliament and not giving answers to the burning issues of the country.

“Last seven years, the Centre has collected Rs. 23 lakh crore from petroleum products through taxes. Both Vajpayee and Manmohan Singh's government purchased oil bound worth Rs. 1.40 lakh crore, but Centre in 7 years collected Rs. 23 lakh crore to repay Rs. 1.40 lakh oil bond borrowings, Modi is under the perception of people of this country are fools”, Siddaramaiah remarked.
